I had completely forgotten about this blog.
My how times have changed since the first post of this blog. I am about to start my last semester at Tulane University. I'm an honor role student about to graduate Cum Laude, I actually have the GPA for Magma Cum Laude but since I am at the School of Continuing Studies I'm considered part-time and only eligible for Cum Laude.
Not complaining in anyway I am humbled and honored to have been given the opportunity and having been able to maintain what I have.
Finals are Mon-Thurs next week and then Winter Break for a few weeks.
I hope to pick this back up on a more regular basis.
Namaste

They used to call it the Falwell game
Back in the early 80's when I was a young punk. I used to read this liberal rag called Maximum Rock and Roll, it was a underground music newspaper basically, it also contained op-ed articles which were for the most part extreme left wing rants (with the notable of exception Mikel Board). I read it for the music reviews, but I also learned about how closed minded liberals are towards other views. Anyway to the point of this soon to be rant on my part.
The editors of MMR used to promote something they called the Falwell Game (after Jerry Falwell one of their favorite targets). I suggest we start using their own tactics against them. Here is how it works: first pick a target like the Progressive Democrats of America, then you find a few dozen phones to use (back then we had banks of pay-phones everywhere, but a few friends cell phones would be great or work phones) call their 800 numbers and ask for information get them to talk as long as you can stand (800 calls can cost a good chunk of change) and request information to be sent to you, make it known you are thinking of making a large donation or adding the organization to your will. Do this as many times a day that you can, be aware most 800 numbers won't accept calls from the same number more than 3-5 times a day (hence the need for multiple phones) now you make these calls as many times a day as you can stomach it, using a new name and address each time. Getting your enemies to spend precious fundraising capital on dead ends can really hurt them down the road, if you keep notes of the names and addresses you use you can make follow up calls wondering where the materials you requested were at, that is sure to send a new round of trash to the address they have for you. As acorn has shown these people will take any name and address Benjamin Hitler at 1234 Main St will get mail sent to him just have the right zip code for the city you are using. Post Office Boxes are great too (sucks for the people that own the boxes but..) so there you have it. One small thing if done by a few thousand people can drive some of these groups into financial ruin and remove them from the fray.

Our national sovereignty and our southern border
The liberal outrage over the recently enacted Arizona Immigration Law,which has been fueled by speculation and outright lies put forth by individuals who, by their own admission have not bothered to read it, has proven to be not only misguided but misplaced too. The city of Los Angeles was the first and most publicized entity to boycott the state of Arizona. If the city council of Los Angeles had bothered to review their own California Penal Code 834 which is actually much broader than the new Arizona law. Now the Mexican Government is suing the State of Arizona. This would be slapstick comedy if it was not true. The lawsuit states that Mexico desires to have "consistent relations" with the United States and not have them "frustrated by one state", the Mexican's go on to say they have "legitimate interest in defending it's citizens rights". My question is if their "citizens" are in Arizona without papers aren't they here illegally and breaking the LAW? A look at some Mexican Immigration Laws shows a very draconian code indeed. Racial profiling, Article 37 of the Mexican code bars individuals that would upset the equilibrium of national demographics.
When we started calling illegal aliens, illegal immigrants we gave them credibility that was unearned or deserved. Over 6,000 illegal aliens arrive in the United States daily that is over two million a year. It is estimated that there are between eighteen and twenty million illegals in the United States at the present time. Last year 2009 $25,000,000,000 (that's billions with a "B") went south to Mexico from illegal aliens to their families. Those are US Dollars that will never return, never have taxes taken from, never be spent at a local mom and pop store, never go to a US bank to support loans, just taken from our economy to help spur inflation. Any wonder why Mexico wants to keep the border open? That is a pretty large part of the Mexican gross national product of 875 billion.
That is not even taking into account the billions of dollars taken out of the country by the Mexican Drug Cartels, which now find out have permanent lookout posts set up on our side of the border. We must control our borders! We must build the fence and patrol it in earnest. Homeland Security has failed the nation miserably. Janet Nepolitano the Secretary of Homeland Security and former Governor of Arizona stated that the Arizona "border is as secure now as it ever has been". She is kidding right, or is she just lying as the rest of the Obama Administration has be doing on every other matter?
I for one will be spending every dime I can on Arizona products and services (I even sent a gift to an ex-girlfriend who moved to Phoenix after Katrina) and I will refrain from patronizing any businesses based in L.A. San Fransisco or any other entity calling for boycott's of Arizona. For countering the boycotters and organizers here is links to both please forget to buy from them.

A Look at the Obama Social Life
Since the Obama Administration took over in late January of 2009, we the citizens of the United States have seen crippling debt, government take over of financial institutions and automotive manufacturers, looming tax increases, rampant unemployment and the worst ecological mishap in the history of the country. A record 40 million families and individuals are now on food stamps. In 2009 a staggering 4,135,000 jobs were lost, and so far this year over 200,000 have been lost (this number is deflated due to counting of 411,000 temporary census jobs). Over 3 million families have received foreclosure notifications in 2009 with some experts claiming another 4 million possible in 2010. With unemployment in double digit territory for the foreseeable future, most Americans are tightening their proverbial belt and buckling down for the long haul.
So lets take a stroll down memory lane and see how the first couple has tightened their belt to be in tune with the populace. First there is the now infamous date night to New York to see a play that cost the taxpayers upwards of eighty thousand dollars. Then there are the dinners with the guest celebrity chefs to feed the Obama's well documented high end appetites. Also are the number of concerts being held at the White House (twenty seven at last count) including acts such as Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, The Foo Fighters, Paul Simon, Faith Hill, Queen Latifah, Herbie Hancock, Tony Bennet, Stevie Wonder, and Marc Anthony to name a few. While these artists probably preformed for free, there would have to be invitations, food, drinks, sound engineers, extra security, etc. which would have to cost you and I for the Obama's pleasure. This on top of the presidents ability to shoot thirty-six rounds of golf in these same 18 months. Also, lets not forget the twenty-two taxpayer paid assistants (with a combined salary of almost 1.5 million) to Michelle Obama, these are in addition to the general White House staff of butlers, cooks, maids, groundskeepers, secret service etc.
While most Americans are in dire straits the Obama's seem to be living the life of luxury at the tax payers expense. Conjuring images of the worst caricature of Marie Antoinette. Its no wonder the President has not been able to have that promised "laser like focus" on jobs creation or the BP oil spill, with a social schedule as full as his I'm surprised he's been able to accomplish anything meaningful at all. Oh wait .......

Barack Obama's Oval Office speech and reality
On Tuesday 15 Jun 2010 Mr. Obama gave his first address to the citizens of the United States of America. An Oval Office speech is an important tool of the POTUS the lights the revered place the lack of audience or interruptions, just the president and the "buck stops here" desk. How did he use this grand pulpit?
Well to say he failed miserably would be quite the understatement in this writers opinion. While fact checks of the speech on both Huffington Post and Fox News both point out many factual errors in the speech relating to the oil spill. But, what has been overlooked in my opinion is the gross misstatement of the amount of reserves we have and the lack of anywhere else for us to drill the POTUS stated "We consume more than 20% of the world's oil, but have less than 2% of the world's oil reserves." which is just untrue with massive reserves in the Gulf of Mexico, ANWR and the untapped Bakken Formation, he continues " And that's part of the reason oil companies are drilling a mile beneath the surface of the ocean - because we're running out of places to drill on land and shallow water" which is truly epic lie (no way to spin it it's a LIE). A recent graphic from Classical Values shows some of the areas that we aren't allowed to drill in. We should be drilling on land in ANWR and more in the Dakotas. Shallow water drilling is prohibited or restricted all along the coasts of America.
He then bemoans sending a billion dollars a day to foreign producers of petroleum, while placing moratoriums on domestic production. Pushing to pass cap and trade to raise already skyrocketing energy costs in a weak economy is just insane. Wanting to "get off fossil fuels" is a noble goal, but to try and force this through taxation is shortsighted and unrealistic. One barrel of oil produces only 19 gallons of gasoline but it also provides for hundreds of other everyday items most people take for granted. So while we are trying to find a new way to drive, fly, and ship goods maybe we should ramp up drilling inshore and on land.
In closing, I think the President failed once again to accept help from countries with far more experience in dealing with this issue, while once again referencing his Nobel Laurent Stephen Chu (who hasn't stopped or slowed the leak). President has already been established by both former presidents Bush and Clinton to waive the Jones Act, to open the door for other governments to step in and provide aide in this issue. To stop all oil production because of one accident ( albeit a massive one) is like grounding all air traffic because of a crash, or outlawing cars after an interstate pile up.

Selling out to Amazon
I've added some ads from Amazon.com I have decided that selling conservative books and other relevant items to be a good service to provide. I hope you take a few minutes to check out the books available. Its not a click ad so going multiple times won't help anyone, but if you are in the market for anything from Amazon we can feature that Item and maybe save you some money. Thanks for your support and lets keep the economy strong. Here is an example of the ads being added.

A brief History of Appeasement
In late September 1938 Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich Agreement conceding the Sudetenland (an area in present day Czech Republic on its western border with Germany, Poland, and Austria) to Nazi Germany in an effort to end the aggressions of Germany. The appeasement failed and Briton declared war on Germany less than a year later. Numerous world leaders have used appeasement as a reference and justification of firm and sometimes armed actions since World War II. Most notably Margret Thatcher in 1982 where Alexander Haig urged her to reach an agreement with Argentina over the Falkland Islands she responded "that this was the table at which Nevile Chamberlain sat in 1938 and spoke of the Czechs as faraway people about whom we know so little". John F. Kennedy in 1962 when he "quarantined" Cuba during the missile crisis. British Prime Minister Anthony Eden in his handling of the Suez crisis in 1956. And George W. Bush in 2008 when he cautioned against "the false comfort of appeasement" when dealing with Iran and its President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
So, I ask, why now do we have a President of the United States of America hell bent on appeasement of Iran and its President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Hamas, Hezbollah, North Korea, Venezuela, Al-Qaeda, Cuba and any other two bit dictator on the planet? Have we so forgotten the past that we willingly will repeat the mistakes of our grandfathers? Why is this administration lock stepping into a most untenable situation with our closest ally in the middle east Israel?
Just a small sampling of some quotes by Ahmadinejad "The wave of the Islamic revolution will soon reach the entire world", "Our nation has no problem with other nations, but as far as the Zionist regime is concerned, we do not believe in an Israeli government or an Israeli nation.", "The UN structure is one sided, stacked against the world of Islam.", and "This regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the pages of time." Somebody please tell me where there is any room for talks with this individual? Diplomacy with Iran should be at the end of the barrel of a very large gun with our collective finger on the trigger.

The Gulf Oil Spill day 54
To start this blog I wish to address the Gulf Oil Spill (though technically its not a spill more on that later) and the complete ineptitude of our current administration. On 20 April 2010 the Deep Water Horizon drilling rig had an explosion which resulted in the loss of eleven lives and started the most horrific man made ecological disaster in the history of our country. After 54 days we still have oil spewing out of a pipe 5,000 feet below the surface with no end in sight. Local governments are unable to respond to the immediate threat because the federal government must approve every action prior to implementation.
The federal government is unwilling to accept help offered by at least 13 nations with experience in dealing with sort of catastrophe. The Jones Act of 1920 ( also know as the Merchant Marine Act of 1920) was instituted to regulate maritime commerce in U.S. waters and between U.S. port outlaws use of foreign flagged or owned vessels between U.S. ports and demands 75% of crew members to be U.S. citizens. This protectionist law is hampering clean up efforts since most skimmers and recovery vessels that have been offered are not U.S. owned or flagged. While the Jones Act has been waived before in times of crisis (most recently during the aftermath of hurricane Katrina)
the Obama administration has been unwilling to up to the time of this writing. It has been reported that Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom all offered assistance within two weeks of the rig explosion.
Maybe Mr. Obama should quit looking for someone's ass to kick and start listening to some people who have actual experience with this issue. He has yet to even talk with the BP leadership almost two months into the disaster. This is a glaring example of an inexperienced and sophomoric view, the inability to own the situation and deal with it instead of trying to pin blame for it. It is unfortunate that your vacation and spring concert series may be interrupted but this is the JOB you ran for to, LEAD the country and the government. Perhaps Mr. Obama you don't have the knowledge base or the intestinal fortitude to handle this position and you should step down and let someone who actually has had a job try to clean up your mess. If you can't do the right thing then at least allow others to do it.
